Top Video Gaming Platforms
If you are a beginner to gaming but would like to get into it, there are a few things you should know. One of them is which gaming consoles are the best, and how much you can expect to pay for them. Another concern is how well the graphics are compared to a PC game, as well as fluidity of play. This may seem a little complex, but it is really about how well you can play a game, and how good it’s going to be.
The three top gaming systems today are: Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and Nintendo Wii. There are also the versions that are hand held too and the top ones are the Nintendo DS and the Playstation Portable. All of the gaming systems can run at least over $100 and some cost quite a bit more than that new.
Nintendo is a company which has always had innovative thinking, and with the Wii they have certainly proved that once again. There are some games that can be played in single-player mode, but for the most part the Wii is designed for group or family play. Through using the special Wii remote, the sensor bar helps people play the games, whether you are playing golf and doing your golf swing, or doing the exercising the remote helps you.
If you’re not looking for the graphics to be realistic, and desire to be active while playing the video games, the Wii is the game system is right for your whole family. This sells for about $250 not including the accessories that are extras, such as the steering wheel, an exercise mat, plus other items.
Xbox 360 offers the gamers the kind of features they enjoy. On top of the realistic graphics, the improved controllers that fit the hand better than the old ones used to, and the Internet play is improved. Most of the Xbox older games will play on it, it just takes a patch that comes on CD or you can learn how to download Xbox360 games to the unit itself. The games are more available now and the Internet capabilities are much better.
You can purchase more than one version of the Xbox 360, the stripped down Arcade version without memory to the Elite version that has a whopping 120GBs, which is twice as much as the model that is considered the standard. You can buy the Xbox 360 at prices of $200.00 to $400.00, according to what model you buy. It is best though to get at least the standard with the 60GB-size hard drive with it.
For a good all around gaming system, that not only can play almost all of the old PS2 and PS1 games, but is also a blue ray DVD player, features a built in Wi-Fi, and with Linux technology, can even act as a computer connected to the television. This well makes up for lack of high demand gaming titles, and poorer online gaming experiences. It starts at $400, but for people who don’t have a computer, or a Blue Ray player, this can be a reasonable price.
You can find all of these gaming platforms online and at many electronics retailers. If you are not familiar with gaming platforms, you can find much more detailed information online; each company has their own website. If you do visit a local retailer, they can also answer many questions and help you find the right one for you.
