There are also the versions that are hand held too and the top ones are the Nintendo DS and the Playstation Portable. All of the gaming systems can run at least over $100 and some cost quite a bit more than that new.

Nintendo has always been a company that thinks out of the box, and the Wii is no exception. While there are a few single player games, the Wii is intended for family and group activities. Concentrating on the use of the Wii paddle, a set of sensor controllers gets people up and moving, whether it is actually swinging you arms in a golfing simulation, or even using the controllers for exercising.

This gaming is for you and of course your family if you’re not looking for graphics that are highly realistic, and you are looking for some activity while you play. This system sells for about $250, and has some nice accessories that can be bought for an additional price, such things as the steering wheel, or maybe you need the exercise mat more, many other things too.

Xbox 360 offers the gamers the kind of features they enjoy. The games are more available now and the Internet capabilities are much better.

There are two other versions offered, Arcade, which does not have any memory and cannot play older X-Box games. You also have the 360 Elite, which jacks up the hard drive from 60GB to 120GBs, double the standard model. The prices range from $200-$400, depending on what system you buy. It is recommended that you at least pick up the standard 60GB hard drive model.

The Playstation 3 is known to be a very versatile gaming system, it can handle many of the games for Playstation 1 and 2, it is a Blu-ray disc player, has the Linux technology, comes with Wi-Fi built in, and can act as a computer too. This all makes up for its short comings in the online gaming and lack of the game titles that are so popular today. The prices for this start at about $400, but this is fine for the people who don’t own a Blu-ray player or a computer.
