How To Copy Wii Games Using Your Computer And Burner
With the Nintendo Wii becoming so popular so quickly, we seem to be getting quite a few emails from people wondering if there is a way to copy Wii games on their computer. I thought it would be a good idea to go over how you can make exact backup copies of Wii games using the burner on your computer.
As you might already know you can’t just use the same software you use to burn cds if you are trying to make a copy of a video game. Programs like Nero or Roxio are not able to copy Wii games.
Why is this?
All video game discs are equipped with a type of protection that prevents your computer from being able to produce copies. The companies that make video games have developed these “copyright guards” so that your computer can’t recognize the discs – this prevents it from being able to make a copy.
When there’s a problem, someone’s going to find a solution! That’s exactly what certain software companies have done – there are now programs that are able to “punch-out” the guards on video games. When you install this software, your computer is able to read the data that is on video game discs.
One quick point – these programs can copy xbox 360, PS3 and any other video games that are on discs. It’s not only for making Wii game copies.

Although the technology behind these programs is complex, using the program is a snap. You just put the Wii game into your disk drive, let your computer make an “image” of it, and then insert a blank CD-R or DVD-R that your computer than copies the image onto.
