Not too long ago, the console wars were really fierce when Microsoft unveiled their first gaming console known as the Xbox to the public to put a dent on Sony’s success with the Playstation 2. Nintendo was also causing a stir with its GameCube console which sold a reasonable amount to all ages. But Microsoft had some plans of their own by developing and launching its successor which is the Xbox 360 and now stood as the most powerful gaming console to date.

The Xbox 360 gained all the attention for a year until Sony and Nintendo answered with their own seventh generation consoles which are the Playstation 3 and Wii respectively. This was the time when the console wars really heated up and now gamers are spending more time deciding which console deserves their money savings. It is a tough battle because each console pretty much has their own unique strengths. Here is how the Xbox 360 weights in against the other two consoles.

When looking at these specific consoles, each provides there own unique spin on gaming today. If you look at the Xbox 360 in comparison to the Wii, the Xbox 360 hands down wins the graphics category, but that is because that is not where the Wii focuses their attention. So when breaking these two down, one things you need to look at is the controls.

Everything that revolves around the Nintendo Wii deals with the motion sensors. Companies have been trying to perfect this for years, but could never reach the heights that Wii has come to enjoy. Granted, you may not think about it, but the 360 has both wired and wireless controllers. You will find this extremely important when you play first person shooter games like Call of Duty or other exclusive games.

The Xbox 360 also has more highly-rated titles that are meant for older audiences while the Wii likes to keep their games accessible by people of any age. Some game makers are making special first-person titles that are Wii-exclusive, but it terms of quality of games, the Xbox 360 still ahead of the competition.

While the Wii is on a plateau of its own, the PS3 is the Xbox 360’s biggest competitor. Each one of these systems are unbelievable when it comes to the technology used to make the graphics so life-like. If you know someone who owns a Playstation 3, they can enjoy Blu-ray support that Microsoft’s console doesn’t have in the system. However, many people believe the Xbox 360 video cards are about as comparable to a PC game like World of Warcraft then any other gaming console. It’s an ongoing debate by every fan of these consoles around the world.

The best gaming console is hard to find out at the time because each console represents something unique in its own class. However looking overall the Xbox 360 might have the edge in the market right because of the amount of titles that it has. The Playstation 3 has more exclusive franchises, but the Xbox 360 has more games. Being that the Xbox has more titles with a higher rating it is safe to say as of right now that they are the leader in the gaming market.

In the end you won’t find a concrete answer regarding this debate. While all 3 consoles are unique in their own way, they all give you a great way to enjoy video games. While the Xbox 360 and PS3 continue to battle, the final decision will come from you. The wars aren’t going anywhere, but the Xbox 360 is a powerful system that offers all kinds of benefits and features to the gaming. Maybe you want to take it for a spin.
