The Call of Duty: World at War 5 is a first person shooter video game. The game was developed by Treyarch and was published by Activision for all the versions of Xbox 360, Windows, Playstation 3 etc.

This game is the 5th in a series of games by the same company. Nonetheless, this series has expanded minimally compared to what was expected of the game. This game takes place during World War II. This version of the game takes place in the World War saga while previous versions had a modern setting.

Call of Duty Word At War currently retails at Amazon for $56.99. The game however focuses its attention solely on the Pacific Theatre and the Eastern Front of the world war, at least in the Windows version.

The tale unfolds a bit like this. The center of attention is exclusively the preliminary battles of World War II. It is centralized in the Pacific and the eastern parts of Europe. The USSR, the U.S., and the Empire of Japan are among them.

The whole game storyline is narrated in the first person perspective by a Red Army warrior and a different Marine Raider. Most of the story is contingent on the battles at Stalingrad, Seelow Heights, Okinawa, Makin Island, Peleliu, and Berlin.

Apart from the first person narrative, the Call of Duty: World at War 5 also has a multi-player portion where multiple layers of games modes are involved.

For the player to gain better fighting and protection he needs additional weapons. These modes help the player to unlock the weapons. This adds to the player’s rank and collection of awards.

This technique of the game, which is collecting additional weaponry and awards was initially implemented in the Call for Duty: War of the Worlds part 4.

The newest console version of COD 5 World at War allows for up to four players online and two offline at a time.

Call of Duty: World at War 5 game is really among the top sellers in Britain dating back to its debut in November, 2008. In fact, it is #2 in the list of best-sellers and has sold more than 1,041,000 copies in the UK alone. In addition, I think is has made the top ten best selling video games list on Ebay in the US.

World at War 5 was criticized by a few who were unsatisfied with the game going back to the world war theme.

The acute portrayal of the dark and gritty sides of the war was highly praised,however. The technique of jumping from one scenario in the plot to the next and the introduction of the co-operative mode was welcoming.
