AdWords Pay Per Click Advertising – The History of Google AdWords Pay Per Click Advertising
Google created its best income-generating method in 2007 with the Google AdWords pay per click advertising. This innovative advertising method left its competitors biting the dust with a revenue of over $16 billion. This became the Google search engine’s major source of income.
Because of this, Google AdWords pay per click advertising became a great way for online businesses to advertise their products and services. For someone who knows how Google AdWords works, it’s a very effective tool for marketing your business. However, for someone who’s new to this, it might be a wasted effort because the technical aspects of this advertising method may be difficult to understand.
Fact: In order to appreciate Google AdWords pay per click advertising, you have to know how this concept came about.
Bill Gross first developed the idea of AdWords pay per click advertising. He got this idea from the concept of the Yellow pages which divides businesses into certain categories or keywords. People who need certain products and services only have to look for these keywords and a list of businesses are presented to them. This concept generated more consumers and when applied online, ushered in a new era of advertising.
Google thought this concept was so good that they wished to purchase the idea from Gross, but the businessman and the search engine could not come to an agreement. Regardless of a resolution, Google then launched AdWords pay per click advertising in 2000 and a court dispute unfolded, which eventually saw the search engine claim the rights to the AdWords pay per click advertising model.
Google first offered the Adwords pay per click advertising to business owners by asking for monthly fees. Google then managed the campaigns for the business owners. Later, Google gave business owners the ability to manage their own advertising campaigns. They were able to do so through an online portal.
AdWords pay per click advertising has taken years to create and many years to understand and master. This is why many businesses chose to hire marketing professionals who have studied AdWords pay per click advertising and tested different methods in order to find a strategy that works and ensures their success online.
